Prayers from the Past Week

Only one prayer from the past week. I did not write as many as before. Hopefully this week I can find more inspiration.

Poem for the Clarene

Clarene,
Esteemed One,

I remember you
upon your dark horse
lightning cracking the sky in two
behind you.

Your hand outstretched,
the thunder rolling,
the nightmare cracked cleanly apart
when I beheld your face.

When you appeared in my life
devastating all expectations –

What have you made of me?
What have I been made into?
Do I know you,
in your form haloed in darkness,
your head crowned in antler or horns,
tall as a mountain,
and soft as soil.

Do I know you
and your desires
your will and movements
unseen but felt in the world,
the hope and power your inspire.

Your stories,
spirits speaking your name,
rolling like thunder,

leaving me with wonder
burying me in hope
until only my crooked reaching hand
remains.
